as to the why...your why...Why would the Egyptians of the 4th dynasty have the remotest interest in the Mountains of Greece and Macedonia?
Macedonia is a part of Greece(Hellas), but the mountains that I was here referring to are not stationed in Northern Greece but rather in Central Greece.
The architects of the Giza pyramids from what I am aware wanted to encode information of a star system. To do this they had to find a mountain range of peaks that aligned with this star system when it set in the West. This was not possible in Egypt. They thus devised a configuration that took into account the geography of Egypt and also Greece, among other areas(conventional modern state borders). Thus if they erected pyramids that aligned with the 'home' star system they might consider that this would provide a magical religious affect, one that could relate to their religious beliefs of the afterlife.
What is so far fetched about them being an extension of THEIR beliefs surrounding birth, life and death?? Surely you are not about to pretend that you are not aware of the more popular beliefs/conclusions/possibilities. Neither are you unaware of the countless arguments, papers, books and research supporting same
The archeological, Egyptological findings although valuable cannot really explain why the Giza pyramids were designed the way they were. They cannot explain their relative heights or apex altitudes. They cannot explain how their distances and center base angles were chosen. They cannot explain how the causeway orientation was set out. They cannot theorize on the slope of the Khufu Pyramid air-shafts. An so on...
