I have a question, though: the position of the stone on the ground, which is used to suggest a subterranean level, would appear to be upside down. Are not the column's circular edges in fact the sculpted hair on a Hathor headed column, as can be seen in the hypostyle hall when one stands looking UP at a correctly positioned Hathor head?
If what we see uncovered on the ground was the top of such a column, it would be squared off and not round. You can see the same circular shape of Hathor's hair in this photograph, taken looking up at the recently cleaned ceiling of the Hathor temple at Dendera:
Seems odd to me. An upside down sculpted Hathor head perhaps?
