The boat, the pyramid and the star.
We can’t do less than accept each boat-pit housed a boat, and we can’t do less than accept each boat was for a different journey somewhere. But we cannot be sure if each boat and each journey was by separate Pharaohs or the same Pharaoh.
If the orientation of a pit does indeed identify the midpoint between equinoxes, and the time period of Khufu and the pyramid being built does identify the Sun housed above Mintaka at that midpoint, then the extension to Orion’s belt stars represented in the three main pyramids means Menkaure’s pyramid does represent Mintaka, and the Sun above it alludes to the pit identifying both Mintaka and Menkaure’s pyramid.
Having the entrance glyph of Khufu’s pyramid (having the title ‘Horizon of Khufu’) showing two mounds and a pyramid may indeed represent the three main pyramids, with the mounds equating to Khafre and Khufu’s pyramids, and the pyramid form being Menkaure’s pyramid. The glyph also shows two circular forms, one between the mounds and the other between pyramid and mound.
Having the midpoint-between-equinoxes between the main pyramids on the one hand and the mounds on the other is certainly part of the plateau’s plan, and having the boat pits is also part of the plan in some way, but are they for boats that accompany the deceased to the afterlife, reaching Re/Sun and its millions of years of existence?
Or did the boats actually travel somewhere and return?
They would certainly be important if they did go somewhere else and return to Egypt, bringing back news and items from far flung lands. In this case, is it true that cocaine residue was actually incorporated in the embalming process?
If the pit is for Menkaure’s pyramid and Menkaure, then does it have to be a symbolical thing for the afterlife?
Then the other pits are for Khafre and Khufu...or possibly someone else is in the mix.
Would the other pits also identify particular times of the year which can be associated to the Sun’s location and the other stars of Orion’s belt, and therefore the larger pyramids?
Truly, the over laying ‘As above, so below’ must be modelled further than three pyramids representing three stars, and if Khufu’s pyramid does indeed portray the cosmos and Earth together in its architecture, then the pyramid field must portray something further than just stars...and the boat pits must represent this in some way.
The potential for journeys to other lands is there, but we cannot know what was lost in Alexandria’s library nor all the temples that may have had records of such things. All we can speculate about is Strabo’s tale of Atlantis to support such journeys, and that is an oral tale…
Others know more than me about all kinds of things, but what I know has to be considered too.
