Thanos, you are the one who began the quibbling here, also the one who backpedalled on your very blunt statement of fact – yes, that is the term for it. I see that you are continuing. By the way, I did not oblige you to respond to this thread in any shape or form and off-the-cuff ‘offerings' are generally ill-advised. I also note that you use Graham Hancock in the references that you mention here – do you have the page number? Curious that you should quote him when I did not. By the way, it was a difference between the end of the 3rd millennium and the middle, making 500 years or even, according to my Sumerian reference, the beginning of that millennium which brings us to 1,000 years. Quite a lot of exchange can happen in that time. “a few centuries”? How about ten? But it seems that this now has no importance - which is fine.

Which, in my experience, makes for sloppy work and begs the question of why you responded in the first place.

Well, I could just reply “Why not? Why would there not have been people visiting and trading throughout those lands, visiting first one place, then another?” Unless there is a misunderstanding between us and you think I’m suggesting that they always and only moved in a straight line... that was the Great Pyramid ship, if you can cast your mind back to the original subject, and the orientation of it would constitute a more sophisticated message! I’m beginning to understand that something in the narrative here cannot stand for too much fluidity. I don’t doubt that you have studied your particular subject of the Levant with great assiduity, but given the information from Arabian sources, might there not have long been some particular reason to travel between Harran and Egypt, some particular intangible asset that one or the other or both had in their possession – knowledge of astrology, alchemy, sacred geometry for example? Yes, it is difficult and perhaps impossible to prove beyond quoting those sources, but so is the theory that there was no communication between the two places in the 3rd millennium. No-one is asking you to believe it.

I give up on contesting what you seem to want to make me say. I rarely use the term “I believe” unless accompanied by my reasoning. As you are not really interested (yawn, yawn), I don’t invite you to re-read what I wrote. The evidence concerning Harran is in Sumerian dictionaries. The evidence concerning the Sabians (if they are indeed the pagan ŠA-BI of Mesopotamia) is in my own translation with their -possibly later - existence also noted throughout a variety of secondary, thus precarious, sources. Your obviously contemptuous quote about me taking my facts from Magicians of the Gods says it all. As it happens, I’m surprised that Graham would have missed the Ebla information. His work is very carefully and abundantly referenced.
