Here he is crown prince. This is from the western pit with Yoshimura. The reason why is there no cartouche next to Khufu. Of course it would be great to see this on a photo. Best thing, e-mail Yoshimura's office at Waseda.
During this procedure they revealed a cartouche for King Khufu and beside it was the name of the crown prince Djedefre, without cartouche. This is a very great discovery. It is the second cartouche of the great King Khufu to be found in the pyramid complex – the first was inside the Great Pyramid
It makes sense. Just like the cemeteries were built successively from west to east (G1200>G4000>G2100>G7000), so were the boat pits. See Peter Der Manuelian on this for details (e.g. G2100).
