This is the original construction for the Nubian triangle, derived from a square with the GP1 base size of 756 feet per side. This construction also defines the sqrt 8 rectangle and inner triangle. The Nubian is in blue, with the sqrt 8 triangle outside it in green.

The sqrt 8 triangle has some interesting proportions. 1: 1.4142 and 1: 1.5. Baseline to height and Baseline to leg length.

This is what happens when the definer circles are added to one leg. The full size definer doesn't match the leg but a 1/2 size definer does. There are 9 x 1/2 size definer radii of 126 feet exactly in the leg length of 1134 feet.

All the definers are added, and the adjoining tier lines too.

The tier lines are interesting lengths too, with some curious relationships. If they are all taken to be sqrt 8 triangle base lengths in their own right, multiplying them by 1.5 gives the corresponding leg lengths as shown here.
