So what we have then goes something like this:
Perring showing 11 blocks and (perhaps) a bit.
M&R showing 11 blocks.
As for the painted numbers we have:
Perring: 4 - 8 - 21(?) - 20
Petrie: 4 - 18 - 21 - 23
Rowe: 4 - 5 – 8 – 12 - 22(?)
Combined then (assuming each are individual numbers and have been read properly, tho this is by no means certain) we have:
4 - 5 - 8 - 12 - 18 - 20 - 21 - 23
A right dog's breakfast. Most certainly this needs to be looked at properly with modern lighting and technology. Of those where we have images of the numbers (12, 21, 22), they do at least agree on one thing - reading these numbers upright then they have been written contrary to the normal convention of hieratic script i.e. from right-to-left with the highest value being placed (read) first.
