SC: Do you know something they didn't?
Morten: Logic is King.
First of all, please do clarify exactly what you believe these number signs to be? Cardinal numbers (i.e. non dates) written sideways? Dates? Something else?
Secondly, you are effectively saying Gardiner et al had a logic failure. Do explain exactly how?
Finally, what evidence can you present that states that the number signs and the sceptre signs on these roof blocks in Campbell's Chamber were drawn together as one homogeneous group of signs? As poster Manu points out:
Manu: "...there were five gangs at work two of which used the nfr and the was symbol. They worked on Hemiunu’s mastaba and on Khufu Akhet. This symbols were painted over other marks..." (from here).
Which is evidence that these was & nfr symbols could be painted (perhaps with a different orientation) over marks already present on a given block, like, for example, the number signs on the blocks in Campbell's Chamber (possibly made when the blocks were in a second - different - orientation during transit). Where is your evidence that this known practice did not occur with the blocks in Campbell's Chamber and that the signs (number / nfr /was) presented on each of the blocks in this chamber were painted at the same time as one homogeneous group as you seem to be claiming?
