There is a lot of talk about the true birth date of Jesus Christ. One theory is that he was born September 11, 3 BC.
On this date the rising azimuth of the Moon does not align with the causeway.
But, if we go back 1 year back then there does seem to be a match.
The direction from the Bent causeway to Bethlehem - Church of the Nativity is exactly 60 degrees. This symbolizes the equilateral triangle.
If we consider an ideal flat horizon, then the night before 9/11/4BC, the Moon rises as seen at Bethlehem at an azimuth of 60° 33'. This takes into account light refraction and it corresponds to the rise of the upper part of the Moon disk. Lunar standstill takes place on the night of September 12.
