That's an interesting interpretation. How do you know that's the purpose of myths rather than the myths being the result of some multicultural game of chinese whispers (telephone), seasoned with a fair share of cultural hyperbole, about some pretty dramatic events that actually happened eons ago that later cultures attempted to preserve and propagate to their successors, but the original message got lost in translation?
The original message hasn't been lost in translation.
The purpose of this board is to discuss the Mysteries. The mysteries of what? The meaning and purpose of the legacy, or simply the long discarded shells?
There is much discussion on temples, pyramids, obelisks, mastabas, Pyramid Texts etc. (all connected with the Gods) which is only peripheral to the central theme of Godship which seems to be relegated to the back row in favor of more debate about construction, artifacts, craftmanship etc.
The ancients were more concerned with Death rather than Life as proven by the extant evidence (defined loosely as religious edifices). The lifestyle component of the ancients is missing in the main.
I don't expect you to search around the ancient mystery "religions", but if you did, you may be able to begin answering your own question.
It either resonates with you, or it doesn't.
