This is a geometric model of the time component of the kinetic energy of the Earth-Moon system. By using a geometric model to show time, you can easily relate time to geometry.
But why should the constraint governing the orbital periods also govern the size of the bodies? This is another discussion, but one entry are Einstein's Field Equations, specifically the Stress-Energy Tensor.
What matters in terms of what the ancients could observe and deduce is that they could measure both orbits in Earth days by tracking the heliacal rising of Sirius and the ecliptic position of the Moon. To them this was vital information related to the timing of the Nile and to the order of their universe. While these observations theoretically gave them all they needed to derive good approximations to π, φ, the meter and inch, and a slew of other constants all of which actually can be derived from the various dimensions of the Great Pyramid (see Alan Green, Gary Osborn for example), we cannot conclude they knew because they could just be incidental (not coincidental since by necessity) to the cosmological laws which they did not know as far as we can prove. As an example, the Fine Structure constant shows up in both the King's Chamber and Khafre's Pyramid. How can this be, right? I think Alan Green and I have consensus that it is not coincidental. However, I have not been able to prove that it is an incidental import, even though I am convinced it is. Not all of my peers agree though.
Nevertheless, the architecture of the Great Pyramid can be plausibly placed into the Old Kingdom when you remember that prevailing theologies of the time were that of Memphis and Hermopolis. The architect Hemiunu was the chief of the house of Thoth. I think he embedded the lunar period (27½) and the half-period of absence of Sirius (35) in the dimensions and he scaled them up using the numbers 5 (at Meydum) and 8 (for G1) which relate Venus to Sirius. He indented the Great Pyramid's core by 220 x 8 x 1/1000 cubits exactly, which is a numerical play on Khemenu Re/Kha a highly significant phrase to the teaching of the Ogdoad cosmogony.
