I can't name large numbers of them.
I can't do the kind of work that was required to come up with Mercer's approximation of the PT but I have some understanding of the thought processes involved. It seems highly unlikely that none of the individuals involved employed genius to solve many of the glyphs. While I have a much lower opinion of modern translators the fact remains that the same sort of genius is required to carry that work forward.
There's simply no question that a lot of hard work and cleverness took us from Rosetta Stone to where we are today.

Yes. Exactly. It is just natural for people to assume all the science has been done and Egyptology has solved the basic facts connected to the pyramid. If you ask an Egyptologist how they know they'll tell you "there's a mountain of evidence" but if you ask them why words like "ramp" or "belief" are unattested or why there is no direct evidence any great pyramid was a tomb you get a blank stare and then a flurry of insults.
