A belief in a Creator precludes any need to subscribe to that erroneous belief system therefore I would suggest you follow your own advice on this and lay asside your own theological preconceptions.
Schofield was the pioneer of your process and he was, basically, as Scientifically Illiterate as Darwin was.
That said, there are certainly things Creationists need to rethink such as the Age of the Universe. The Bible is for this Solar System alone (hereafter called Cosmos). By that I mean the Universe is assuredly much older then Creationists believe but it is also substantially older than what Evolutionists believe at 20 billion years - we have white dwarfs that old - thus bringing the big bang back to the drawing board.
My own guess, based on background radiation, is 5 trillion years which agrees with some cultures such as the Mayan, Egyptian, Indian and Sumerian.
However, there is more than enough evidence to prove that this Cosmos is only 6 thousand years old. I will not bother pointing out the fallacies of the dating methods because this has been established but Evolutionists continue to ignore it as well as all the anomalous artifacts that they ignore such as a manmade steel ball embedded in billion year old marble and dinosaur tracks in Glen Rose right beside human tracks.
The ages of the Patriarchs in the bible are accurate at around 900 years which is supported by Benjamin Button Children who age slowly and are expected to live to be four hundred years old - consistent with the post flood patriarchs.
I, therefore, find absolutely no need to compromise with evolution because it is, basically, a bankrupt belief system that has absolutely nothing to offer of any value except to those who can not handle the Truth of the existence of a Creator.
