The scottish mile is 5820 feet and i suspect the holy rood is 111 feet bt
it takes nothing away from your calcs.
See my latest post on the canon.
This is 6600/10x9 =5940 imperial feet it is the saros cycle x 9/10.
So we can work back
6600/10x 9 = 5940 / 4 = 1485
/root 2 approximation 1485 /99 x 70 = 1050 radius x 2 x 22/7 = 6600
So working in base 99 not base 111.
the calcs are still quite stunning.
I am in contact with Helen, but we have never met, she is writing a book to expand her findings but this stuff is possibly a bridge too far but she gave me permission to promote her paper, it is high end academic, she used to be a university lecturer.
in her apaper units of 6 and 7 scottish miles crop up.
the link between the two systems is 111/99
this is what helen said about her paper
'You may like to look at my paper on Academia.edu on the Pictish symbol stones and what they tell us about landscape surveying - they seem to have used the Scots mile of 1.814k.'
So it is still open i assumed she discovered the Scots mile.
