I agree it's unfair to question the credentials of Egyptologists and doctoral candidates. I know you've worked hard to get where you are and Egyptologists have worked hard to get to this state of the art... ...such as it is.
Don't worry about it and try to keep things in perspective. You have a degree to earn and many of the people here are going to keep working and their efforts might undermine everything you're taught. Ultimately all that matters is we all get to the truth and everyone pitches in the best he can.
Just remember there are no beginners or fools here and condescension is usually counterproductive. Most of us develop a sort of "personality" and our posts reflect this more than our real selves. God knows I'm not very easy going in real life and I have no patience at all. Don't sweat the details.
