Hi T Bird, forgive me for butting into this thread. Jon and I have both supported the notion that certain components of G1 seem to be built from the ground up for managing wave energy. Whether it's for signal or power is yet to be deterimined. Likewise, the nature of that construction has attributes that support of propagation of either sonic or EM energy (tbd) through either a liquid or gaseous medium (tbd).
If Cadman is correct in basing his model on Kunkel's original US Patented ram pump, then his model is incomplete since it only takes into account a "lower stage" construction components and doesn't adequately address the components in the upper structure.
Jon's recent analysis of the construction of the HP, AC, and AP lends strong support to EM wave energy. Certain aspects of the Main Entrance, DP, junction with AP, and also SC support Cadman's ram pump. My thoughts about the RCs support EM as well as (mechanical) high pressure events generated in the KC. There is also Chris Dunn's sonic model with its Helmholtz resonators. There are signs of erosion that may be confused with hacking off of overlying materials. The granite assemblies support EM but may also support the need to prevent erosion that would be caused by liquid on limestone. I do not support the notion that granite portullis blocks originally occupied the AC channels as a "security mechanism". I see a LOT of hacked and chiseled surfaces throughout G1 that scream of an overlying material having been hacked off and removed.
It's clearly a work in progress to better characterize possible functionality before the process of elimination can proceed to a conclusion.
