I just want to point out that the actual horizon depends on the surrounding geographic morphology. For example if there is a mountain near a location you have to take that into account when a celestial body is rising or setting. No astronomy software does this. You can use the terrain feature in Google Earth but you cannot go back in time. Even though the surroundings at Giza are pretty flat you still have to take into account the surrounding low hills.
