Muons can come from all directions, unlike photons focused through a lens. Hence the dual photographic emulsion sandwich which determines angle of 'impact' and intensity.
Like an old camera it may 'see' something that isn't there, say due to problems with the process, but it cannot eliminate something that is there.
So yes, the image resolution in everything but range/distance is extraordinarily good. I was surprised at the results.
