We recently visited a carpet factory near Ancient Ephesus in Turkey. We had a weaving demonstration performed by a young lady. She was weaving a large carpet on an old loom. Our host and salesperson described how the weaving process worked.
Now I assume that modern Turkish carpets are all done on computer controlled, automated machinery. But watching the young lady work that loom, I just thought that maybe women started this. So perhaps mythological speaking we should be honoring Isis rather that Thoth.
I could see Thoth as the salesman though asking the weaver, “are you done yet?”
