Ok Jean if your going to Eater Island have a look at a couple of things. I spent a few days there some years ago.

1. don't know where you are staying but walk through the town and notice the landing spots for rafts.

2. The gum trees on the walk up to the crater are interesting.

3. Take a compass and place it on the simple stone which the locals say is 'The Navel of the Earth' the compass swings.

4. Have a swim at Anakena beach and notice the platform on the beach that has been re worked.

How lucky you are wish I were there.

When sitting on the hill where the statues were carved look down at the sea and imagine a tusanami swamping the villages on the coast. Look at the cattle drinking sea water.
