My apologies as well. The arid conditions in Egypt began c. 3000BC and got rapidly worse whereas before it was a savanna, not a desert.
Collapse of an ecological network in Ancient Egypt

For example, Late Predynastic ceremonial palettes depict lions, wild dogs, and many species of ungulates including oryx, hartebeest, and giraffe (Fig. 1), none of which exist in Egypt today.

The study continues, but how could all of these animals, among others, have existed in a desert? They didn't and when it actually became a desert in the following several centuries after 3,000BC they eventually began to die off and are now gone from Egypt. I guess those palettes must be 10,000yrs old all of a sudden now too?

Sahara Went from Green to Desert in a Flash
Quote

From lakes and grasslands with hippos and giraffes to a vast desert, North Africa's sudden geographical transformation 5,000 years ago was one of the planet's most dramatic climate shifts.

Paleoclimate and archaeological evidence tells us that, 11,000-5,000 years ago, the Earth's slow orbital 'wobble' transformed today's Sahara desert to a land covered with vegetation and lakes.
