In case there is any doubt, I just found something extremely interesting: Some people online connect ancient wind roses with Rose Windows. And if you look into these, you will find it said the most famous rose windows on Earth are found in the original gothic cathedrals, and they emanate from northern France. And there are none more famous than the three huge rose windows of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. And they use the same fundamental pattern as the ancient wind roses, but taken to a new level of beauty and detail.
I take this as a divine gift for anyone paying attention. Rota Fortunae also comes up in all this and this Wheel of Fortune idea relates to the Goddess Fortuna. FORT is found on the Pilier des Nautes and typically translated as Fortuna the goddess. Images of Fortuna online show her holding a ship's rudder. I believe this ties in with the phrase, "Winds of Fortune', and sailing once again.
I suggest anyone who's getting this stuff take a look at images of those beautiful gothic Rose windows and see what comes come you. You might also want to look at "Cymascope' images. This is a device invented by a British scientist that lets you see the shape of sound, in a more three dimensional way than salt on a vibrating plate.
Lastly, where did wind roses originally come from? Online it's said: the Phoenicians. Aka, Civilization One.
