Ok so we're talking about Ireland being the basis of the Atlantis and Garden of Eden stories. Obviously those stories are not identical. And as we look further, such as with independent researchers such as Zecharia Sitchin, he writes about stories about "the Deluge" found on clay tablets from Mesopotamia.
And let's add a reality check here: no serious scholar thinks anyone today really has the original "writings of Plato". Re modern bible stories, Joseph Campbell, the researcher who had devoted his life to collecting all the world's "myths" he could find, said in one of his books (quoting from memory): "Anyone familiar with the stories from the ancient middle east cannot help but see parallels with biblical stories at every turn, but with the later biblical stories arguing a point contrary to the earlier stories."
Add to this there has been a HUGE effort to erase history in the past. As one historian I know once said to me, "The problem is 99 percent of the writings are missing, due to the Middle Ages".
So, what is the real history? I believe the Noah's Arc Code is a gift to humanity to help us find it.
Now at the time I deciphered the ARARAT message embedded in bibles, I also deciphered more embedded information, having to do with the mysterious Minoan culture of ancient Crete. They appeared to have lived in a Golden Age. They had no defense fortifications, per researchers, yet lived in what would have been a very heavily traveled area: the Mediterranean Sea.
As I write at polkadot, I concluded the Minoans had no defense fortifications because at that time there was nobody to defend against. They were part of the first civilization on Earth. I claimed that the main base of "Atlantis" was Ireland, but these people lived on other islands off Europe as well, such as Crete. Now it is generally accepted that one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recent millennia occurred near the island of Thera, which is close to Crete, and researchers talk about a tsunami caused by this, hitting Crete and perhaps crippling the civilization there. Authors have written books claiming this Thera eruption is the real basis of the Atlantis stories.
I happen to believe they are partly right. Now when I first wrote about the Minoan-Ireland connection, I did not know that Irish researchers had connected the ancient Irish, the Fenians, with the Phoenicians, as per my last post. Later, I came upon a rather well known book by Charles Hapgood: Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings: Evidence of Advanced Civilization in the Ice Age. Here is a passage from the Preface:
"This book contains the story of the discovery of the first hard evidence that advanced peoples preceded all the peoples now known in history. In one field, ancient sea charts, it appears that accurate information has been passed down, from people to people. It appears that the charts must have originated with a people unknown; that they were passed on, perhaps by the Minoans (the Sea Kings of ancient Crete)and the Phoenicians, who were for a thousand years and more the greatest sailors of the ancient world."
I mentioned Sitchin earlier. He claims that the very first base for the first civilization on Earth was in Eridu in Mesopotamia. He claims Eridu means "Earth" and shows how variants of that word are used in various language to mean "Earth". Well, he didn't have the Noah's Arc to help him, but he was close. One of the names for Ireland happens to be Erin.
And of course the Hill of Tara can be interpreted to mean Earth. Tara, like Terra, Tierra, etc. Out of steam
