Seems the bottom line about cutting/drilling stone was as I originally said. You aren't going to cut or drill stone with brass, much less copper tools. Having used brass tools, I know a lot about their limitations having used the brass myself.
I did not say however, that they could not be used to move sand to do the job, didn't even suspect it.
Glad I came here to see what others actually doing it had to reveal about their hands on experience.

Sure had to dig deep to see that hands on/first hand evidence, stale cheese tho some of the armchair opinionated believe it to be.

Still stumped how the cut in that stone sarcophagus could have gone so awry?
