I'm still trying to understand how we know that the 6th Dynasty wrote about "Iron". What's the etiology of that translation? How can we be sure the 6th Dynasty glyphs don't just mean something more akin to "material that's harder than anything we know of today"? If we make up the name of a fictitious material with certain properties and call it "Unobtainium" and someone in the future develops a new material that actually has at least some of those properties and quaintly calls it "Unobtainium", that doesn't mean the original fictitious Unobtainium actually existed at that earlier date.

And if we are expected to take what has been translated as "iron" literally in the writings of the 6th Dynasty, then what does "Ceiling of the sky" literally refer to, and how does it literally "open"?
