788a. To make a libation. To say: Thy water belongs to thee; thine abundance belongs to thee;
788b. the efflux goes forth from the god, the secretion which comes out of Osiris,
788c. so that thy hands may be washed, so that thine ears may be open.
Libations were mixtures of natron and water that forced eruptions which resulted in purifications. This is still used to wash ears and eyes.
789a. This power is spiritualized by means of its soul.
789b. Wash thyself for thy ka washes itself. Let thy ka be seated,
The "soul" of the spraying water is the gas (spirits) coming out of solution.
789c. that it may eat bread with thee, without ceasing eternally.
The water "eats the bread of horus" which are the stones which comprise the pyramid. It "eats" them by means of quarrying, cutting, and lifting the stones into the pile that is the dead king.
790a. Thy going is as a successor of Osiris;
The dead king becomes the water's successor.
790b. thy face is before thee; thine homage is before thee.
The face is in the upper eye in the mehet weret. It does not occur until the purification begins.
791a. It is agreeable to thy nose on account of the smell of ’Iḫ.t-wt.t;
Just as rising bread or rising cake often has a very agreeable smell, so too does rising osiris as he purifies the winding watercourse. "’Iḫ.t-wt.t;" is CO2's scientific name and its vulgar name is "the efflux of Osiris". It means "risings begetter" because... ...well... ...it begets rising in bread, cake, Osiris and beer. This "rising" is the spraying water that causes the purification.
