What we’ll have less of, Creighton, is false accusations.
The joke is directed entirely at you: Scott-ish Common Sense. I contrast you with Thomas Reid.
It went above your head, as we see.

We see that you have found the level at which you feel comfortable.

A matter of empirical reality, Creighton. You have a problem with that? Clearly you do.
—as belonging to the Cheops of Herodotus and the Suphis I of Manetho would have put Vyse ahead of Wilkinson and Rosellini, verifiable by the simple expedient of consulting their works.
For you what you make up has priority over research (but then we knew that).

That you could do this without the benefit of hindsight is mere assertion on your part. Hindsight is the elephant in the room here and your pretending it’s not there, dropping you hints, is scarcely sane, let alone honest.
Your game of making up “could haves” and passing them off as facts has been seen through. This cartouche:
—“could” (in some sense of “could”) belong to the Χεφρήν of Herodotus, if (say) everything we think we know about this proved to be wrong, a possiblity you are in no position to deny—just as much as Vyse “could” (in some sense of “could”) have worked out that it does not.
These modal Ersätze for facts don’t just work for you. As for possible worlds semantics (a systematic way of talking about such things), forget it—it’s beyond you. I suggest you step away from the game. Stick to what is and what is not, and forget the “could bes”. File with the “proposed secret cache”.

It is far from obvious that such a specimen as yourself is in any position to issue insults or dispense advice.
