Firstly me - my name is not John Smith or LonelyAngel. It is Sean Hunter. Why the pseudonym? I'm a Doctor Who fan, and both names are names used by or used to address the Doctor. Nerdy enough for you? Unlike you and Scott and others, I tend not to use or broadcast my own name on the Internet, as I have no particular agenda to promote, or axe to grind, or reputation to build or protect. Call it cowardice, but I was the victim of identity theft in 2011 and therefore put no private or personal details online (don't use Facebook or Twitter).
What right have I to express an opinion or question anything or anyone? No more or less than anyone else using a free Internet forum.
What authority or position do I hold? None.
What authority or position does Jason Colavito hold? No more than me.
He is called an "independent writer and researcher". Just like Scott Creighton. Yet every qualification (engineer? historian? writer? researcher?) of Scott's is questioned and denied on here, yet this Jason fellow's right to judge and review Scott's book is unquestioned by you and loveritus and everyone else on here.
So because Jason Nobody expresses an opinion you agree with, he is an authority. Big man on campus? really? You expect to get away with this hogwash unchallenged?
Martin, on my own experience alone, I would regard YOU as the foremost expert in the defence of Vyse. No doubt about that. i could be wrong, but I hold you in that regard. You could be wrong, but you know your stuff, you have done your research, and you believe passionately in your orthodoxy. This Jason Nobody is just another Internet hack out to trash someone's book.
Who is this guy? An absolute nobody, just like me.
The difference is, I know what I am and I don't expect intelligent people to quote me just because I dress my opinions up in a blog.
