Points 2-3 onwards is reply to Loverita's reply (& also to part of Thunderbird's post).
The most important sentence (about my last post new tentative theory on 4th dynasty) is the 2nd to last one bracket with two arrow heads.
1. There is nothing wrong with looking for a mutual corroboration of Biblical and Egyptian.
Who is to say that "condensing Egyptian dynastic history" (and matching with Biblical) is wrong? There is plenty of evidenc that the old orthodox Egyptian history was too long, and that the current orthodox Egyptian history is still too long. (Note how they quiety slowly reduce it over time, so everyone forgets the orthodox wrings and others rights; Anything to keep the reigning orthodox elite look all-right and keep the reigning orthodox Elite in power.)
Herodotus said Moeris (12th dyn) was only 900 years before [Amasis]. Herodotus said Menes was (1)1340 years before Seti, and Josephus said Menes was 1300 years before Shishsak, which puts Menes not before 2300 bc, and puts Shishak as either Seti or Ramses 2. Joseph definitely matches Sekhemhet "pyramid" complex, and Moses pretty certainly matches 2nd half of 12th dynasty. Sekhemhet pyramid complex dated 600 years older than orthodox Egyptology ascribed date which itself is 600 years older than real date.
Some may wrongly "force-to-fit" matches, but the true matches are being found (by objective not by orthodox/sceptics) without forcing to fit (though some may falsely claim they're forced to fit).
2. It is half true and half untrue that "the Hebrew connection is not new" (and i clearly said this myself anyway). Yes there have been past Hebrew - 4th dyn connections, but I have not seen/heard any one else suggest or prove the actual connections that i have found (though it is possible that i haven't seen/heard some). In fact there are indeed even seemingly ancient Egyptian sources with Hebrew - 4th dynasty connections which suggest that our idea seemingly may be right. Eg, Herodotus said the pyrmids were named after Philitis "lover of righeousness" who dwelt there then, and this seems to match with our Joseph in 3rd(-4th) dynasty and Moses in 12th discoveries.
3a. People can not just assume/assert that the biblical is "allegorical", though perhaps some people may have some seeming evidence reasons for thinking/feeling this. The biblical persons are not allegorical; Whether this new tentative idea is right or wrong, we have already seemingly found Joseph and Moses in Egyptian. Over the last so many years/decades more and more of the bible (and other sources) have been shown to be more true than previously asserted. One has to openly and objectively keep looking to see if there are or are not any matches between the sources/histories/timelines/chronologies.
3b. The Documentary Hypothesis (Babylonian exile) theory is not necessarily true. Can't say more here and now though.
3c. Alot of so-called "mythology" is not so untrue as modern orthodox archsceptics believe.
The problem with allegorical/myth claims is that they don't usually (have to) prove it to the same (excessively maximum) high(est) "standards" that they demand of others.
The bible history is proven true at least as far back as Joseph.
Hebrews in Egypt were not Hyksos. We have good evidences for all these matches and dates:
1st dyn -- Abraham (real date 2000s bc?)
3rd(-4th) dyn -- Joseph (real date 1800s bc?)*
12th dyn -- Moses (real date 1400s bc?)
Hyksos ~~ Judges
400 yrs -- 480 yrs
18th dyn -- Sheba?
18th dyn -- David (real date 1000s bc?)?
19th dyn -- Shishak (real date 900s bc?)
19th or 20th? -- Zerah?
25th -- Assyrians
26th -- Josiah,Nebuchadnezzar.
3 Kdms: OK - MK - NK.
3 gods/groups Pan - Hercules - Dionysos.
3 Hermes: Set - Shu/Num - Thoth.
3 reincarnations: Seth[Shem] - Moses - Samuel.
* Joseph aka Zaphenath-paneah ~ Sekhemhet aka Djsoerty-ankh
Goshen ~ Giza/Gizeh/Er-ges-her "beside the high"? (or else Sokhem??)
Potiphera priest of On ~ "Ra-hotep" priest on Heliopolis?
Pharaoh ~ Surid?
Philitis "lover of righteousness" ~ Jacob or Joseph or Hebrews?
Bent Pyramid ~ 7 yrs plenty & 7 yrs famine?
7 yrs drought/famine Djoser ~ 7 yrs famine Joseph
Unas famine scenes by Sekhemhet pyramid complex ~ 7 yrs famine Joseph [who matches Sekhemhet]
models of granaries in Old Kdm tombs ~ 7 yrs plenty/famine Joseph.
Ramses found in 4th dyn site (Hoeh) ~ Raameses?
See our blog articles on Joseph, Moses, and Egyptian Chronology.
But I'm not sure though about this new tentative/casual idea/theory that we posted:
Khufu/Cheops ~~ Yakov/Jacob??
(Djedef-re "son of Re" ~~ Joseph "son of El"??)*
Khafre/Chephren ~~ Ephraim??
Menkaure ~~ Manasseh??
* Ra/Re ~ El ~ An(u)?
Djedef-re was first to use 'se-Ra/sa-Re' "son of the sun (god)".
~ Joseph similar to Jesus 'son of El' "son of (the true) God"?
>> As i said, there are a few seeming problems with our new idea which can't be dismissed (eg Djedefre had a son Setka, but Joseph only had two sons Manasseh & Ephraim), but there are also seeming quality/quantity evidences for the match which also can't be dismissed. <<
The more i have looked at this new 4th dyn Hebrew matches idea the more it seems to make sense of alot of hitherto things in 4th dynasty that semi-consciously seemed abit oddly-interesting, and esp also with all our previous 3rd(-4th) dyn Joseph matches.
If biblical etc can be lies or myth or mistranslated etc, then why can't Egyptian and/or modern be lies or wrong or mistranslated etc? So the seeming problems with the new theory (not anymuch with our previous discoveries) might not necessarily really be so on thorough investigation of the ancient and modern sources?
