I should have spotted this myself, but someone else brought it to my attention: the original page on Indiegogo for The Cheops Project was saved by the Wayback Machine:
There is also this: what appeared (before it was pulled) on Frank Höfer’s own NuoViso site:
We see that what the evidence shows us—contrary to a certain unevidenced fantasia in which Höfer “overextended himself, feverishly writing copy for various media venues”—is that Höfer’s writing was focussed and economical, using the same copy on the three (3) interlinked sites which he verifiably used for publicity and crowdfunding purposes.
We may also revisit December 2014, starting with Frank Höfer’s blog (noting in passing how odd it is that he should have a blog, seeing as how he’s been painted as an idiot savant “technician” who couldn’t be relied upon to string two words together):
The link takes us to this, still visible on his NuoViso site:
“Außerdem entnahmen sie winzigste Proben einer rötlichen Verfärbung in der obersten Entlastungskammer.”
The YouTube video is at this URL:
We see Frank Höfer “interviewing” Görlitz and Erdmann. This reflects well on them: clearly they are very forgiving, as one might have expected them to drop Höfer like a hot stone, after the fallout of his “overextending himself”.
Well, no, actually: it’s perfectly clear that the team remained a team and remains a team, with Höfer fully involved in the spin:
Students of publicity may wish to learn from their brazen extraction of value from the trouble they stirred up.
The six Egyptian guards remain in jail.
I fear that I have unduly neglected Erdmann:
Due to reorganisation of Erdmann’s site, his use of the (unprejudiced and unprejudicial) phrase “die gefälschte Kartusche” is no longer to be found at the URLs specified—but it is still there:
